Fiber Technician III

Location: Raleigh, NC

Position Summary

The Fiber Technician III is responsible for advanced installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and splicing of single‑mode fiber optic systems. This role requires the ability to work independently, handle complex fiber tasks, and ensure all work meets quality and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test single‑mode fiber optic cabling
• Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors
• Terminate simplex and duplex jumpers
• Terminate and breakout OSP and outdoor single‑mode fiber (Corning/Commscope)
• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing (building entrance, maintenance space, direct‑buried)
• Test and troubleshoot fiber using OTDR and Fluke equipment
• Read and interpret fiber drawings and splice matrices
• Complete labeling and documentation accurately and on time
• Perform basic copper terminations as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fiber optic installation and splicing experience
• Strong OTDR troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain high workmanship standards
• Experience in commercial or enterprise environments preferred

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Raleigh,NC.
