Title: Manager of Market Design and System Operation

Responsibitlies:
The Manager of Market Design and System Operations is responsible for managing the design of market rules and processes in support of our client’s market vision to foster wholesale electric markets that deliver reliable and efficient market outcomes. The manager will oversee the identification and development of improvements to the policies, market rules and processes that advance achievement of market efficiency, develop effective and collaborative relationships with the stakeholders and Independent Market Monitor to provide information and deliver innovative solutions. They will lead staff and advise management from Service Lines in a matrixed environment on technology and business model evolution that will enhance market efficiency and grid reliability and effectively integrate future grid resources and other new technologies. Some additional responsibilities include the design, development, and evolution of wholesale electricity market rules, tariff provisions, and operational requirements across day-ahead, real-time energy, ancillary services, and FTR markets. It provides strategic and people leadership for cross‑functional market enhancement initiatives, aligning market design with system reliability, economic efficiency, and long‑term grid transformation. The position oversees advanced engineering and economic analysis, stakeholder and board communications, and policy development to address emerging market, technology, and regulatory challenges. Responsibilities also include strategic planning, budgeting, staff development, and performance management to deliver transparent, non‑discriminatory markets that support efficient operational and investment decisions.
