T exas Rising Star Coordinator

Summary: The Texas Rising Star Coordinator completes, reviews and processes purchase requisitions, purchase orders, packing slips for CCS-participating providers. The Texas Rising Star Coordinator will also compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine procurements, calculating and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the mission of SERCO.
  • Processing of procurements in compliance with Texas Rising Star guidelines.
  • Complete Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
  • Reconcile Purchase Orders with Packing slips
  • Creation and maintenance of purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Follow up on purchased inventory at centers and homes
  • Follow up on Back ordered items.
  • Maintain Texas Rising Star files
  • Generate and distribute claims/reporting forms to providers.
  • Determination and resolution of purchase orders and payments to vendors.
  • Answer CCS Provider telephone calls, assisting the caller, or taking a message
  • Prepare outgoing mail
  • Accurate, complete, and timely response to monitoring reports and audits
  • Serve as back up to Early Learning Program Coordinator
  • Compile and analyze financial information and prepare general ledger entries.
  • Attend training session as needed
  • Responsible for performing assigned functions connected with Texas Rising Star processes, including billing, clerical and routine financial duties
  • Ensure that all accruals are recorded and adjusted to reflect actual expenditures on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the process of compiling special project reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual independent audit of the Corporation
  • Assist with meeting the child care performance set by TWC and the WSST Board.
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Knowledge, Skills, And Availability

  • Working knowledge of workforce service programs and Child Care Services.
  • Knowledge of accounting computer applications (Kindertrack, MIP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes.

Education And Experience

  • Related 4 – year degree from an accredited college/university plus 2 years of related experience or 60 hours of college with 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination thereof. (preferred)
  • One year full-time clerical experience including data entry and maintenance of records
  • Experience in book keeping or accounting
  • Ability to use personal computer and learn proprietary software,
  • Strong telephone etiquette
  • Ability to perform complex calculations
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures to diverse clientele.

Special Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and provide automobile liability insurance as required by the State of Texas.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation in order to make required home visits.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; for long periods of time. Employee must be able to drive for extended periods of time. Employees must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, must be able to set up display area.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced, demanding physically and mentally, will be in constant communications.
