Are you an experienced natural gas utility inspector with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to safety and compliance? Join Diverse Pipeline Services (DPS) as we support critical gas distribution infrastructure projects across the Northeast. We’re looking for knowledgeable, field-driven professionals to help ensure safe, compliant construction on high-visibility projects.
What You’ll Do:• Inspect and document gas distribution construction activities, including main replacement and new service installations
• Serve as an on-site representative ensuring compliance with engineered designs, company standards, and regulations (including 220 CMR 100)
• Monitor critical construction tasks such as tie-ins, pressure testing, purging, and polyethylene fusion
• Verify excavation quality, pipe installation, depth, materials, and clearances
• Capture photographic documentation of critical work
• Complete daily inspection reports, sign off on work and change orders
• Prepare accurate as-built drawings for gas mains and services
• Collect GPS points using provided equipment
• Verify proper backfill and minimum 4” asphalt restoration
• Participate in quality, safety, and coordination meetings as required
✅ What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):• Experience: 5+ years in the Natural Gas Distribution Industry
• Inspection Background: Prior experience inspecting gas main and service installations strongly preferred
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of gas construction standards, procedures, and regulations
• Field Independence: Ability to manage multiple crews and work independently across job sites
• Tech Comfort: Confident using digital reporting tools, documentation systems, and photo capture
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license required
Schedule & Work Environment:• Monday–Friday; Overtime and premium time may be available, including nights and weekends
• Assignments may include multiple crews or locations based on project needs
