Caring for seniors requires a warm smile and a compassionate heart. Caregivers work in homes and senior living communities to help seniors age in place.
Our caregivers help with cooking, house cleaning, grocery shopping, or pet care with one family and assist with showering, dressing, companionship, and feeding with another.
Our caregivers are motivated and flexible - they find ways to go above and beyond expectations to provide amazing care to our seniors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Two (2) years' experience as a Caregiver
- Experience assisting bed bound clients
Preferred (Not Required):
- A driver's license is helpful, but not required
Job Duties:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and getting to and from activities and appointments
- Allow and encourage clients to do as much of their own care as possible
- Prepare meals according to directions from clients and family
- Encourage clients to eat a proper diet and take adequate fluids while respecting the right to free choice
- Initiate and participate in activities or programs, and support friendships with other friends and family
- Maintain client ADL and care notes in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedures; document medication given as applicable, leisure activities, incidents, and observations; report any changes in client condition and/or behavior, and visitors; observe and reports the health and emotional condition to nurse or care manager
- Assists clients with medication as defined in medication procedure; assists or supervises residents who self-administer medications; follows physician orders and state laws to administer medications to clients who cannot self-administer their medications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the clients, perform general housekeeping
- Follow proper procedures in emergency situations
- Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers
Employer Notes:
- Some tasks will need to be delegated by a nurse to perform some care in a home in Salem
- Employer will run a background check prior to the first day of employment
- Employer provides CPR and First Aid training
Hours:
- Hours are mostly 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; however, caregivers can help clients from 3 hours to 24 hours based on the needs of the families
- Schedule and hours depend on client needs and Caregiver availability
- Generally, 20-40 hours per week
Wage:
- $17.00 to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience, depending on qualifications, plus shift differential
